Vans and jiu-jitsu already have a shared history. Royce Gracie is signaling another chapter.

In an Instagram announcement reported by ShreddER on September 28, 2026, Gracie teased a project under the names “VANS JIU JITSU” and “VANS MMA.” His message described years of work and promised more information soon. The accompanying image shows Gracie alongside Steve Van Doren, with branded shoes, boxes and apparel displayed in front of them.

That is enough to get the jiu-jitsu community paying attention. It is still a teaser, however, rather than a complete product announcement.

What Royce has put on the table

Gracie's post tags Vans, Steve Van Doren, Bruce Buffer and JiuJitsuSupplyCo. Those tags connect readers to the people and accounts referenced in the announcement; they do not establish each participant's commercial role.

The reporting reviewed for this article does not establish a release date, pricing or a full product lineup. For now, the accurate description is a Royce Gracie teaser for a Vans jiu-jitsu and MMA project.

Vans has been here before

This is not the brand's first connection with jiu-jitsu culture. On October 6, 2025, Vans announced an OTW by Vans collaboration with Shoyoroll featuring two Old Skool 36 styles.
