UAE Athletes Shine on Day 3 of the Jiu-Jitsu World Championships in Bangkok

The third day of the Jiu-Jitsu World Championships – Adults Division in Bangkok delivered another day of world-class action, showcasing the discipline, skill, and sportsmanship of top athletes from around the globe. The competition, organized under the patronage of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) and hosted by the Ju-Jitsu Association of Thailand (JJAT), featured finals across multiple Jiu-Jitsu and Fighting System weight categories.

UAE Dominance in Women’s and Men’s Divisions
The United Arab Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF) continued its strong showing, collecting several medals and demonstrating the technical mastery that has made the UAE a global leader in the sport.
- Asma Al Hosani earned gold in the female –52 kg division after a commanding performance throughout the rounds, defeating Ukraine’s Oleksandra Yakovenko in the final.
- Shamma Al Kalbani captured gold in the female –63 kg category, confirming her status as one of the most consistent athletes on the international stage.
- Aysha Al Shamsi and Balqees Abdullah Abdulkareem Abdoh took silver and bronze respectively in the female –45 kg class, marking an impressive double podium for the UAE.
- In the male –56 kg division, Omar Al Suwaidi clinched gold, while Theyab Al Nuaimi added bronze, giving the UAE another dominant performance among the lighter men’s weight categories.
Mahfoudh Muhrah also fought bravely in the female –70 kg bracket, securing valuable ranking points for Team UAE.

Other Highlights of the Day
- Italy captured double gold in the Duo System (Men & Women) events, with Ensabella & Molino and Costa & La Rosa both taking top honors.
- Montenegro’s Cakovic & Vukotic impressed in the Show Mixed event, earning the gold medal with a dynamic and perfectly synchronized performance.
- In the Fighting System, Ukraine’s Bohdan Mochulskyi won gold in the –62 kg category, while Spain’s Aaron Gomez Martin claimed victory in the –77 kg class.
The Netherlands’ Ruben Raghunath emerged champion in the –85 kg division, and Fabian Meyer of Germany dominated the +94 kg category.
