ACBJJ have announced Rousimar Palhares against Andre Galvao and Kelvin Gastelum against Rodolfo Vieira for ACBJJ 23 in Rio de Janeiro on November 13.
The promotion unveiled the main event and co-main event in an October 21 Instagram announcement shared with the athletes. Their accompanying artwork lists Palhares-Galvao at 100 kg and Gastelum-Vieira at 90 kg.
For jiu-jitsu fans, the attraction is the combination of established grappling names and athletes familiar from the UFC. Galvao and Vieira bring championship experience from the sport’s major tournaments, while Palhares and Gastelum add opponents whose careers also extend into MMA. These bookings put that crossover on the mats.
The match labels deserve attention before treating the pairings as equivalent contests. ACBJJ’s poster calls Palhares-Galvao a “Battle Match” and identifies Gastelum-Vieira as an “All-Stars No-Gi Match.” The announcement does not lay out the full rules for either contest. Round lengths, scoring, and permitted techniques should be checked against the final event regulations before drawing conclusions about how the matches will unfold.
The distinction matters for any preview. A weight limit and a pairing establish who is booked, but they do not establish every condition under which the athletes will compete.
ACBJJ say the event will stream through their YouTube and X channels in English, with a Russian-language stream on VK. Their announcement says tickets will be available soon. A confirmed start time was not included in that post.
For now, the two pairings give the November card a clear focus. The next details to watch are the complete rules and final viewing information as the Rio event approaches.
