Tsarukyan Shuts Out Danis as RAF 14 Returns the Focus to Wrestling

Tsarukyan Shuts Out Danis as RAF 14 Returns the Focus to Wrestling

RAF 14 arrived in Las Vegas carrying the debris of a press-conference brawl. By the end of Friday night, the clearest story was much simpler: Arman Tsarukyan left Dillon Danis no room to make the match competitive.

Tsarukyan won the middleweight crossover championship by 10-0 technical fall on October 23 at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. He scored early, controlled the pace and reached the technical-fall threshold without surrendering a point.

RAF’s official result highlight shows the closing sequence and confirms Tsarukyan’s 10-0 technical fall.

The result answered the central competitive question behind a matchup that had spent two days being discussed mostly for what happened off the mat.

A One-Sided Main Event

Danis entered the event with a reputation built in jiu-jitsu, but RAF's dedicated wrestling format gave him no reliable path back into the match once Tsarukyan established control.

Tsarukyan repeatedly turned exchanges into points while keeping Danis from creating meaningful offense. The 10-0 score reflected more than one successful sequence. It showed the difference between having grappling experience and being able to dictate a wrestling match from start to finish.

The final seconds also threatened to revive the hostility from Thursday's press conference. Tsarukyan stepped on Danis after the result, bringing both corners toward the center before officials separated them. The situation stopped short of another major brawl.

That restraint mattered. RAF 14 had already been forced to explain why its headliners reached for punches before a wrestling match. The event needed an actual competitive result to replace the spectacle.

Chimaev Dominates Lawler

Khamzat Chimaev produced an even wider margin in the co-main event, defeating Robbie Lawler 11-0 by technical fall.

Lawler brought decades of elite mixed martial arts experience, but this was a wrestling assignment against one of the strongest pressure grapplers in combat sports. Chimaev scored without allowing Lawler to establish offense, improving to 3-0 under the RAF banner.

Afterward, Chimaev turned his attention toward Colby Covington, his scheduled opponent for RAF Abu Dhabi on November 14. Their cruiserweight crossover championship match now follows another dominant Chimaev performance.

Caliendo Hands Burroughs a Rare Loss

The most significant pure-wrestling result came from Michael Caliendo.

Caliendo defeated Olympic champion Jordan Burroughs 7-5, building enough of a lead to withstand Burroughs' late pressure. For an event marketed around crossover names, this was the reminder that the card's deepest intrigue came from wrestlers testing each other inside their own discipline.

Elsewhere, Lucia Yepez edged Sarah Hildebrandt 8-7, Sebastian Rivera defeated Vito Arujau on criteria after an 11-11 score, and Ridge Lovett earned a 13-2 technical fall over Jordan Oliver. Bella Mir and Brendan Allen also won by technical fall, while Pat Downey pinned Magomed Magomedkerimov in the second round.

The Wrestling Became the Story Again

RAF 14 did not erase the ugly scene that preceded it. Tsarukyan charged Danis during Thursday's press conference after Danis displayed a shirt insulting Chimaev, and the room dissolved into a melee.

But Friday supplied something more useful than another replay of that confrontation.

Tsarukyan proved that the matchup was not close under RAF rules. Chimaev added another shutout. Caliendo earned the kind of win that can change how a wrestler is viewed.

The event began with a question about whether the wrestling could reclaim attention from the chaos. The results provided an answer.

For Tsarukyan, the next question is not whether he can handle Danis in this format. It is how quickly RAF can find him an opponent capable of making the wrestling difficult.
